Education

Kazakhstan has made education a high priority. Education is universal and mandatory through the secondary level, and the country’s literacy rate is 98.4 percent. Scholarships for university students and vocational training have doubled in recent years, and a fund has been established to encourage leading scholars from around the world to teach in Kazakhstan.

The “Bolashak” (Future) program awards scholarships for study abroad to 3,000 scholars. By acquiring the best possible education, these students gain the skills that will be necessary to lead Kazakhstan into its prosperous future.

With a policy of working to make education accessible to everyone on the basis of merit, Kazakhstan is preparing to create an elite educational institution to meet the highest international standards. Gifted students have the potential to make an outstanding contribution to economic, political and cultural life, and their skills and abilities must be carefully cultivated.
